There are some fragrances that instantly make you think of a season, and for me, Spiced Pumpkin is autumn in a candle.
Warm, cosy and gently spiced, it has that familiar blend of pumpkin, cinnamon and clove that feels just right as the evenings get darker and the temperature starts to drop. It’s the kind of fragrance I always want to light when I’m settling in for the evening - preferably with something warm to drink, a cosy film on, and nowhere else I need to be.
What does Spiced Pumpkin smell like?
At the heart of the fragrance is pumpkin, giving it a soft, comforting sweetness.
That’s layered with cinnamon and clove, which bring warmth and spice without making the scent feel too heavy.
The result is rich, cosy and unmistakably seasonal.
Fragrance notes:
Pumpkin · Cinnamon · Clove
If you love traditional autumn fragrances, this is probably the scent in the Autumn Gathering Collection that will feel most immediately familiar.
A candle for cosy autumn evenings
One of the things I love about Spiced Pumpkin is the atmosphere it creates. As soon as it’s lit, the room feels warmer somehow. It’s perfect for those first properly chilly evenings when you start reaching for blankets again, putting lamps on earlier and spending a little more time at home.
I particularly love it in the living room or kitchen - somewhere you want that comforting, welcoming feeling.
It’s also a lovely candle to light before people come over. The cinnamon and clove give the room a warm, inviting fragrance that feels seasonal without needing lots of autumn decorations everywhere.
For anyone who loves warm, spicy fragrances
If your favourite candles tend to be cosy, warm or spiced, Spiced Pumpkin is probably the one I’d recommend first. It has that classic autumn character, but it’s still easy to live with.
Where Baies brings a softer, more elegant side to the season, and Fig & Cedar feels richer and woodier, Spiced Pumpkin is all about comfort.
It’s the fragrance for slow Sunday afternoons, rainy evenings, fresh bedding, something baking in the kitchen and the first night you decide it’s definitely cold enough to put the heating on.
Bringing the season into your home
I’ve always loved the little changes that come with autumn. The mornings feel cooler, the evenings draw in earlier and home starts to become somewhere you naturally want to spend more time. That’s one of the reasons seasonal fragrance has become such an important part of Cicely & May.
A candle doesn’t need to completely change a room. Sometimes it’s just about adding one small thing that makes the everyday feel a little nicer, and Spiced Pumpkin does exactly that.
Hand-poured in Lancashire
Every Cicely & May candle is hand-poured in small batches in our Lancashire studio, using soy wax, premium phthalate- and paraben-free fragrance oils, and cotton and paper wicks.
Each 180ml candle has an approximate burn time of 30 hours, with free UK delivery on every order.
Spiced Pumpkin is available individually or as part of the Autumn Gathering Collection, alongside Baies and Fig & Cedar.
If there’s one fragrance that captures that classic feeling of autumn at home, this is it.
